The Ugg-ly Debate

April 25, 2012

He bought them against his better judgement. On a recent trip to Australia, I asked The Husband to get a pair of tiny Uggs for baby Shinkins-Doyle. “But he’s a boy” was his response. “Boys don’t wear Uggs“.  Mmm correction, grown ass men don’t wear Uggs, but baby boys? They can wear whatever they ,or more accurately, I want them to wear, they’re babies. And besides, whats cuter than a tiny pair of Uggs? Nothing, exactly.

The Husband: “But what if someone sees his tiny Uggs sticking out of the stroller, assumes its a girl and asks what her name is?”

Me: “Then I will tell them his/her name, race to the car, promptly remove adorable cross-dressing Uggs and immediately mail them to someone who is actually having a girl.”

    Agree with Paul, UGG’s are for girls. You want your baby boy to have best possible start. Sticking him in girls shoes is just wrong

    It not like dress up dolls when you were a kid

    Totally disagree with both Paul and Edward. Baby Uggs are super cute and super warm so ticks lots of boxes. If you are really concerned then accessorise with blue ribbons, then they’ll never think it’s not a little boy!! (Not serious!!) :)
    People always get it wrong anyway. Even if everything in the buggy is blue they still ask “What’s her name?” You learn to grow a thick skin…..

    oooooh this is so cute! Baby Doyle is a hipster already =)

  4. @Edward: So if I’m reading between the lines correctly, what I’m hearing you say is to make sure The Husband gets Evan a pairs of Uggs next time he’s Down Under?

    @Ang:Your so right. People will mess it up regardless. So the Uggs are a definite keeper :)

    @Waffle Kim: The ultimate hipster.
