Last Day Of Visit

July 29, 2013

For the final day of cousin Paul and James visit, we packed in as much little boy friendly action as possible. Starting with a trip to the park.

Having mastered the coming down part of the slide, Keane decides he’s ready to tackle climbing back up, the non-steps way.

Paul the expert climber.

Keane trying to copy Paul.

Its taken much practice and many’s a bumped head, but Keane has finally gotten the hang of going under objects with enough head space to avoid any more bumps.

Dear World, I promise my sister-in-law and I are doing our best to raise some fine upstanding well adjusted men, but sometimes they go rogue.

Little monkeys.

Sunday evening The Husband returned from a trip to Europe and thats when the fun of a reckless, four-wheeled kind began.

Big Paul and little Paul.

Big Paul and James.

Daddy and Keane.

Yes Keane looks concerned now, but something tells me he will eventually grow to love it, and thats the worrying part.

The Great Outdoors

July 28, 2013

A morning walk and swim for the doggies, somehow ends up a walk and a swim for everybody. And it all began so innocently with a little stone throwing into the river.

Keane is very proud of his stone throwing efforts.

Paul bounds the stepping stones.

James graduates from stones to all out rocks.

Couldn’t be happier.

A little rear view drive-by action from Dexter.

Now its starting to get very wet and messy.

Keane and Crooked are loving the all out wetness.

Look who showed up to share in the fun.

Due to the heavy wetness of the clothes, it became essential to strip down to just shorts for the walk back to the car.

James the thug.

Ok, James is not doing what you think he’s doing, he’s actually just flexing his muscles, we think.

Mom had to give James a left back to the car cos his wet shoes were weighting him down.

After lunch and a nap, we opted for a less wet n wild way to enjoy the afternoon.

Boys, Boys, Boys

July 26, 2013

Its an all boys weekend. Keane’s cousins Paul and James are visiting from Boston, so I’m tapping into the tom-boy side of my multiple personalities to ensure that they have a hella good time while they are here. Today it was all about pure masculine strength and creativity as we hit up the ever colorful Legoland.

You’d be forgiven for believing, based on the photographic evidence below, that all 3 boys were being dragged to said Legoland against their will, but I assure you, they all came willingly and were actually very excited to be there. I swear.

Definite signs of joy creeping in on that face.

James was very good at making sure Keane was well protected against his boisterous fellow Legolanders.

Then the building got underway.

Doyle Boy Construction now open for business.

The 3 boys tackle the building project from their varying heights (left), while Keane tests the security of the window frame (right). That or we are watching a future cat burglar in action.

Providing James with a little guidance.

Sometimes a man just needs a minute to rest.

And sometimes he just needs a minute to play.

Bedtime has just become another opportunity for playtime.

Cuties, all 3 of them.

This photo will definintely accompany my application for “Aunt of the Year”. I totally rocked story-time.

Summer Flu

July 23, 2013

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of capturing the wedding day memories of another gorgeous bride, Lauren and her new and handsome husband, Andrew. In the process however, I managed to pick myself up a horrible summer flu, complete with a cough that sounds very much like an 82 year old women who smokes 10 packs a day. And when I do cough, it makes my brain hurt. Have I managed to pull on anyones heart strings yet?? No?? Well lets just forget I ever mentioned it then and instead we can focus on the fierceness of Lauren & Andrew.

Joy to the Weekend

July 19, 2013

Its the weekend. Here’s hoping you get to spend it in the same relaxed, sun soaking, pool dipping manner as Keane. Just look at that face, nothing but joy.

At least Keane’s new friend Chloe found enough happy wavy joy for the both of them.
