She was a little bashful in her admission, to her it seemed unromantic, unoriginal and not really something to brag about to the grandchildren. When I asked Reagan how she and her future husband, Michael met, she got a little deflated, “In a bar” she said, a little embarrassed. I on the other hand was ecstatic, cos thats exactly how The Husband (my husband) and I met, “In a bar”. This was our very first conversation and right off the bat Reagan and I had something in common, we had both met our men in the first place people tell you not to look, a bar. Single ladies out there, let this be a lesson, there are actually good men to be found in bars.

Reagan and Michaels story began when she spotted a very tall, very handsome man brush past her on his way to the bathroom. Instantly something ignited in Reagan, she followed him with her eyes, watched carefully to see where he was going. Now knowing the path he would take from the bathroom back to his friends, Reagan made sure to place herself carefully in a spot where he had no choice be to see her. The spot was of utmost importance, one did not want to appear to be some sort of bathroom creeper, no, one was a lady and needed to be viewed as such. Wherever Reagan ended up placing herself, it worked. On his way back to his friends, Michael was stopped dead in his tracks by the tall, stunning blond flashing him an encouraging smile. Their connection was instant. Straight away they both knew, knew that she was now talking to the the man who was going to be her husband and he to the women who was going to make his wife.

I’m so honored to be working with Reagan and Michael and to capture their wedding in less than 2 short weeks. I had such a blast shooting their engagement session and am excited to share some of my favorites.

We have to give a shout out to Reagan’s mom, who put in a lot of time and research to find the perfect location for her daughter and future son-in-law to rock their fierceness.

Rolling rivers, covered bridges and some yummy winter sunshine, what more could we have asked for?

One of my favorites from the session.

I have no idea what kind of sweet nothings Michael was whispering to Reagan, but I love that it gave me the opportunity to capture Reagan’s big smile and genuine laugh.

Rock those boots!

Fierceness.

Michael did an amazing job choosing the perfect ring for his bride.

Love this old covered bridge.

I asked Reagan to give Michael a kiss and she basically grabbed him and planted the biggest smooch ever on his lips. I loved it.

Michael and I shared a special moment right before I took this photo and every time I look at it, I know they are both trying not to laugh. True professionals : )

Love. It

Another favorite.

Not sure why Reagan was giving Michael this look as we waited to cross the street, but I really like it.

Yes ma’am.

Freedom of the Pool

January 25, 2013

My little guy is all about the pursuit of independence these days. We’ve been taking him swimming every week since he was just under 3 months old and this week we decided to grant him the freedom of the pool by giving him his own little floating vest. Look how silly adorable he is in his oversized vest.

A little concerned as to why he’s all padded up, Keane keeps his eyes on Daddy for some reassurance.

Still not sure whats happening. Still keeping Daddy in his sights.

Slowly he begins to relax and eventually he got the arms and legs kicking and splashing.

And of course it wouldn’t be a weekly swim session without a little surf time on the kickboard.

Wait a second, is someone naked behind that board???

Big Week

January 23, 2013

What a difference a week makes. Last week Keane was just flirting with the idea of crawling, doin his little push-ups and butt raises, but a mere few days later and those push-ups and butt raises have morphed their way into an almost fully mobile little fella. We are definitely on our knees and we are absolutely determined, (see facial expression below), but sometimes the idea of forward motion, can get a little intimidating.

Yesterday I took Keane to The Husbands training facility to play around on the football turf and watch Daddy coach all the professional footballers, and so tempting was the big yellow marker that he actually flirted with the idea of crawling towards it.

But then he had second thoughts.

And he decided that the big yellow marker, wasn’t really worth the risk.

But 20 minutes later, something that was worth the risk was Daddy’s stop watch. Taking us all by surprise, Keane began to pull himself up in big efforts to get to the prized watch.

Got it!

Very proud and excited by his own achievements and new possession.

Unfortunately he had to give the stop watch back to Daddy.

But he did give himself a big “clap hands” for being so helpful and amazing.

Its no news to anyone at this stage that The Husband’s team, The New Engalnd Patriots were beaten Sunday night and as a result will not be heading to the Super Bowl in 2 weeks. As you can imagine, the mood in our camp is not great. Anger, disappointment and verbal rants directed at game day referees and line judges with like minded New England supporters are all helping The Husband come to terms of this harsh reality and in its own way aiding with the healing process. So in the spirit of moving on, let us quickly change the subject and talk about the new house and how things have been progressing there.

As you can see, the exterior is all but done. A little more painting and the addition of some lights and we’re pretty much good to go. Well, some eventual clean up in the surrounding garden would be a nice addition too, but with our attention now fully focused on the interior, it will remain our mini construction site.

My trusted sidekicks Dexter and Crooked.

The interior is now fully insulated and this week we get started on putting up some walls. Very exciting.

Its Playoffs Day

January 20, 2013

Today the message is simple. “Go Patriots”. Win today = trip to Super Bowl = happy husband = happy wife who will take advantage of husband’s happy mood ; )

Keane is dressed, ready and taking a quiet time in the hammock to get his focus on.
